Karla Lopez, M.Ed., has served school communities in diverse educational settings in Los Angeles for over 20 years. In her various roles, she has worked collaboratively with others to foster partnerships and leverage resources that support students' social-emotional development. She received her Bachelor's Degree in Education from Eastern Michigan University and her Master's in Educational Leadership and Administration from Cal State. She is certified as a trauma-informed educator. Ms. Lopez is a Social Emotional Learning (SEL) Adviser in L.A. Unified's Division of Instruction. In her role, she has produced district SEL Symposiums and is a content developer for the Social Emotional Learning micro-credential. Additionally, Ms. Lopez has published her social-emotional children's book, "In the Heart of the Coop".
