Karo Duro is a Creative Technologist who fuses art, extended reality, and experience design to craft emotive bodies of work that ignite insights and inspire change. She was born in Nigeria, raised in Ireland, and is currently based out of Atlanta, Georgia. She studied Computer Science with a focus on Human Computer Interaction and Artificial Intelligence at Georgia State University then later studied Extended Reality at Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).
Her portfolio spans immersive exhibitions, technology-driven art installations, cutting edge digital experiences, and virtual worlds that blend storytelling with human-centered design. Karo’s work has been recognized in notable spheres locally and globally including Google Arts and Culture, Carnegie Hall, Essence Fest, Fulton County Public Arts, Atlanta Downtown (ADID), The Black Scholar Journal, The Palace of Fine Arts in San Francisco and the Desiderio Gallery in Vienna.
Currently, she leads multiple research initiatives in emerging technologies and AI-powered tools, focusing on the ethical concerns and societal conflicts that arise in the rapid advancement of these technologies, aiming to raise awareness and carry the torch of advocacy in these areas.
