Karthikeyan Subramaniam is a Principal Solution Architect at BMO N.A. with nearly 20 years of experience driving digital transformation, cloud modernization, and Generative AI initiatives in banking and wealth management. Operating in an extended leadership capacity reporting to the CIO, he shapes the Wealth digital roadmap, including cloud migration strategies, evaluation of emerging AI/ML technologies, and build-versus-buy analysis, and serves as Technology Governance Advisor for the Wealth Canada application portfolio.
He architected a governed, cloud-native GenAI solution that automated the identification of high-value trust litigation leads, increasing qualified leads two to three times, raising attorney contact data enrichment from under 20% to around 73%, and reducing processing time from hours or days to under 40 seconds, with an estimated annual incremental revenue opportunity of $12M to $30M+. He also architected VERA, an enterprise Generative AI platform serving use cases such as lead generation, intelligent document data extraction, call-record sentiment analysis, and JobAID assistance, and delivered parallel retrieval-augmented generation AI assistants for Wealth Advisors on AWS Bedrock and Azure OpenAI, introducing an “AI-to-test-AI” validation approach well received by the enterprise architecture community.
His earlier work includes a $1.5M data aggregation platform designed for approximately 2,000 transactions per second, leading the Wealth Management Group integration following BMO’s acquisition of Bank of the West, the MYCA relationship manager application that replaced a legacy system in roughly four months, and GLIA, a real-time audio, video, and text engagement capability for remote advisor-client interaction.
Karthikeyan holds a Master of Computer Applications from Anna University, Chennai, and a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from Bharathiar University, Coimbatore. He holds 13 AWS certifications, including Solutions Architect Professional, DevOps Engineer Professional, and Machine Learning Specialty, along with multiple Google Generative AI and Responsible AI credentials. He is a recipient of the AWS Golden Jacket and the Destination Digital Innovator award (2024).
