Dr. Kathleen A. Leynes, DSW, LCSW is the Director of Professional Development and Curriculum Design at Youth Guidance, a national non-profit organization that creates and implements school-based social-emotional learning and mental health programming. Dr. Leynes leads Youth Guidance's Evolve program, the organization's first systemic school-wide intervention designed to cultivate a district-wide culture of support and trauma-informed engagement by delivering training and resources to school-based staff. Previously, Dr. Leynes spent 15 years as a high school social worker where she created and co-led her district's social-emotional learning professional development strategy and advisory model. Dr. Leynes also recently earned a social work doctoral degree from Aurora University where she completed a qualitative dissertation on school social workers' impact on social-emotional school climate.
