Azure Stack and the Hybrid Cloud: Modernise Applications Anywhere

How do you approach those applications and workloads that simply cannot go to public Azure due to compliance, connectivity, latency, or other reasons? Join this session to witness how a modernised Azure public compatible app on Windows or Linux can run in your own physical DC on Azure Stack, and learn some of the lesser known secrets of how Azure Stack can help transform your datacentre.

Azure Active Directory: Unsung hero of the multi cloud

Azure Active Directory has the power to surround, penetrate and bind all aspects of your multi-cloud environment together in a secure and ever-evolving blanket of comfort and management joy. Despite this, it's often talked about as just the 'users and groups' management component of Office 365 or Azure. In this lightning session we'll very rapidly showcase Azure AD's place in identity, security, and cloud management scenarios, and put firmly into context how you can start using it more effectively today.

The Exploding Azure Ecosystem: What does Hybrid really mean?

We all know and love the Azure Public cloud, however the reality is that it's only one piece of a much larger operational and development puzzle. The Microsoft Cloud world is designed from the ground up to be hybrid in nature, but what does that really mean to you? In this session Microsoft MVP Kenny Lowe will put firmly into context how Azure, Azure Stack, Azure Regional Clouds, Data Box Edge, Azure Active Directory, the growing IoT ecosystem and more all come together to deliver the best rounded Cloud experience available.

Unleash the Full Power of the Azure Stack Development Kit

The Azure Stack Development Kit (ASDK) is an awesome way to test running Azure services in your own datacenter, however the scenarios available to test have been severely limited by its network configuration.

Join this session to learn how to re-jig the networking of the ASDK to unleash its full power, and integrate it fully into your existing infrastructure to enable migration, hybrid, and interoperability scenarios which just haven't been possible until now.

Azure Stack Masterclass : Answering the What, Why, and How?

Azure Stack is marketed as an extension of Azure, but what does that mean? Why would you want to implement Azure Stack? Once you know the answers to these questions, there's still a huge one left to answer - how do you go about it?

If you can't go all in on public cloud and think hybrid cloud is important to you, this is the session for you! You'll gain a firm understanding of what Azure Stack is, where it fits, why you would want it, and most importantly, how you could go about planning, sizing, and implementing it.

Application Modernization? Pft! I'm an IT Pro! Tell me about Operations Modernization!

Every Microsoft conference, webinar, and blog today seems to focus on how Azure can bring huge benefits to an organization with application modernization.

What about applications which can't be changed though?
What if there's no access to source code?
What if there are no developers at all in an organisation?
What about the IT Pros?

In this session we'll talk not about application modernization, but instead about operations modernization, and how the modern IT Pro can leverage the Microsoft cloud ecosystem to streamline, optimize, and enhance workloads to the benefit of their organization, and their own health!

Using Terraform to take Azure Stack from Cool to Sub Zero!

There are many ways to deploy your applications and services to Azure Stack, however most organizations want to ensure consistency between how they manage and deploy in Azure Stack and in Public Azure. For many organizations Terraform is the standard tool which spans multiple platforms when it comes to “Infrastructure as code”.
In this session you’ll learn best practices for deploying hybrid infrastructure as code templates across Azure and Azure Stack, and some top tips and lessons learned from implementing Terraform on Azure Stack in production!

Azure Stack Storage Performance & Architectural Considerations

Azure Stack is consistent with Public Azure, so storage caps and limits are set to follow the same rules as much as possible. There are, however, a number of differences in the underlying storage architectures and configurations which change the rules of the game.

Here we’ll dive deep into the storage systems of Azure Stack, moving from tenant workload right down to bare metal and everything in between. You will understand how workloads will perform in varying configurations, how the Storage Spaces Direct hyperconverged storage infrastructure is configured under the hood, and important gotchas to be aware of when sizing and planning your Azure Stack.

Azure Stack: Internals are Internal, but architecture still matters!

Azure Stack is shipped as an appliance, which means that there are no choices to be made around hardware design, or datacenter integration, right? Wrong!

In this session we'll discuss how Azure Stack should be sized, diving deep into the storage subsystem to understand how it actually works from metal to cloud, before showing how networking should be approached in the tenant space.

You'll get a great overall view of Azure Stack as a platform, and leave with a much deeper understanding of how workloads should be sized both for efficiency and performance.

Azure App Service for the Azure Stack Operator

In a public cloud environment, Microsoft manages all the underpinnings of Azure to deliver IaaS and PaaS services to you. As an Azure Stack Operator, you're responsible for managing some of these behind the scenes elements, including the configuration and management of PaaS resource providers.

The App Service in Azure Stack comes with a number unique, and little understood, configuration options which extend and enhance the value of the App Service on-premises beyond that which is available in Public Azure.

In this session, we'll explore how you the Operator can leverage these features to bring hitherto unseen options and capabilities to your Azure Stack tenants!
