Kent Kim is an independent developer and founder of Deother Co., Ltd., a one-person studio in Seoul. He studied economics, lived in New York until 2005, and has written 23 books — none of them about software. Between March and August 2026 he designed, built and shipped 49 products alone — 16 games and 33 applications — using AI as his primary development environment and teaching himself each stack as he needed it, from Unreal Engine and C++ to on-device inference. Thirty-four remain live, including one shipping in 25 languages and another serving 195 countries in 15. His flight delay assistant AIDA, built on Incheon International Airport's live public data feeds, won the airport's Grand Prize against funded teams. He has no doctorate and has never had a QA engineer.
