Kimberly Vannest has more than three decades of practitioner and scholarship work related to building social and emotional skills in students and educators through classroom and school-wide intervention programs. More than 100 books, papers, software, and guide sheets have received award recognition and more than 12000 citations to date. She is a past president of the Council for Emotional and Behavioral Health, a division of the Council for Exceptional Children, and is a frequently requested speaker for schools and communities. She is currently serving as Department Chair at the University of Vermont.

SEL Supports for Educators: What Do the Teachers Say They Want and Need?

Research indicates teacher wellness improves as an effect of implementing SEL curriculum but few studies ask educators directly about their wants and needs for social-emotional learning in school contexts. This presentation reports the results of a systematic literature review and multi-state survey.
