This is a new role for me. I am a retired early childhood special education teacher whose experiences lead to a family and relational focus. After the classroom and years of co-hosting learning communities and parenting workshops, I ventured into private practice providing a comprehensive approach, bridging school and home to achieve implementation of successful intervention strategies. I taught to the whole; the child and his teaching adults. Psycho-education, behavior plans and modeling technique were always available. I began developing training briefs for pre-schools and moved away from direct instruction. I moved away from home, too (when grand baby arrived). I've been in Virginia just shy of five years, now. Much of that time though was during the height of the pandemic. I tried to get to know the world of tele-health but I sure was happy when this position found its way to me. I am an Infant Toddler Behavior Consultant with the Infant Toddler Specialist Network.
