HELLO :D | Maj Korent is a software engineer, researcher, and founder, working at the cutting edge of machine learning, computer vision, and embedded systems. A long-standing member of the Slovenian national robotics team, he competed at the highest international level and reached the RoboCup 2025 world finals, where he placed 3rd in the world. For his work he was named Student of the Year 2025 by the Electrical Engineering Association of Maribor and received a national Gold Award for young researchers in 2024.
His path started early. He wrote his first machine learning project, at 14. He was also serving on Slovenian student council and school board. On the robotics side, he built fully custom robots end to end, designing his own PCBs, writing low level drivers for sensors and motors on STM32 hardware, and training his own on-device vision models.
Through venture studio WMinus he develops web applications, industrial automation, and a tax certified ERP platform localized for Slovenia, Austria and Germany, with integrations into industrial robots and CNC systems. On top of that he is founding several startups of his own, bringing the same hands on, build it from scratch mindset to his products that he brought to robotics. He stays active in computer vision research, regularly presenting his work in Slovenia and internationally.
