Design is as important in low code as it is in code-first development. Every application, every workflow, every system we build is going to be interacted with by end users.

Well-designed interfaces and user experience are the #1 reason for user adoption, and bad design can also be the #1 reason why your system or application was badly adopted, or not adopted at all.

In the world of beautifully designed code-first applications and websites, low-code applications tend stand out and are usually considered 'basic' or 'simple'. Whether you work in pre-sales, delivery, or build solutions internally - good design is the quickest way to attract and onboard a new customer, a new user or a decision maker.

This all day workshop is aimed at all makers and developers looking to accelerate their design skills. In our jam-packed day, we will go through the following:

In this session, I will show you some really simple CSS tricks on how to instantly elevate your #PowerPages and make them look more professional and well-designed. Hover animations? Box shadows? Gradients? Scroll animations? Custom scroll bars? Pop-up cards? Beautiful navbars? Say no more 🤷‍♀️

Do you know the reasons why users leave an app or a website in 10-20 seconds? And do you know why 38% of users delete an application within just a couple of days? You guessed it right.... Poor interface and poor user experience. The app might do the job, but if it doesn't provide a good experience, or it looks really bad - your users will look for another app that does the same job.

Majority of us started our Canvas Apps journey by creating an app from a SharePoint form. Does it do the job? Yes. But does it look and feel good? Not so much.

Power Apps - developing inclusive and accessible Apps for everyone!

It is estimated that 1 in 5 people in the UK have a permanent disability. This number is twice as high when you include situational and temporary impairments.

What does this mean in numbers? If you deployed an application to a user group of 1000, around 200 of them will have a permanent disability and another 200 who consider themselves to have a temporary or situational impairment. That is around 400 users who will rely on various features in your application to make their experience better.

So... how can you make your Canvas Apps more accessible? It's easier than you think!
