Innovations and Accomplishments in the Italian Classroom

Italian language programs at the K-12 level are essential to the sustainability and growth of Italian studies at the university level. Without dedicated educators and innovative approaches in elementary, middle, and high school classrooms, students are less likely to continue with the language at the post-secondary level. This session invites instructors from all levels—K-12 through university (K-16)—to share their unique, motivating, and effective teaching strategies that inspire student engagement, success in learning Italian, and support the transition from K-12 to college language programs. Presenters will showcase successful classroom experiences, creative teaching activities, and innovative methods that have led to student achievements. These may include specific classroom activities, curriculum ideas, or examples of student work that highlight the impact of these strategies.
