Within the "Transport" team at the Federal Planning Bureau, Laurent Franckx works mainly around the impact of public policies on the composition of the car fleet, and in particular on the share of alternative fuels. He has also studied the impact of new technological developments (such as self-driving cars) and business models in transport (such as shared mobility) on transport demand in Belgium.
Before joining the Federal Planning Bureau, Laurent has worked as a researcher and consultant in various organisations. He has more than two decades of experience in policy oriented work in the field of transport and environmental economics for the European Commission and for regional and federal governments in Belgium.
