Leah Fraley leads SCAN of Northern Virginia with a fierce sense of purpose. As an Athabaskin Alaska Native and a survivor of childhood abuse Leah has dedicated her career and education to child advocacy. In numerous leadership positions both locally and internationally, most recently as the Chief Marketing and Development Officer at the International Centre for Missing & Exploited Children (ICMEC) she has collaborated with industry leaders in healthcare, tech, and diplomacy and is recognized as a champion of social justice.

Determined to change outcomes for children she carries the interests and voices of all survivors into her work across Virginia every day. She is a member of the Executive Committee of the Alexandria Coalition of Human Services Organizations, serves on the Board of Families Forward Virginia, co-chairs the Prince William County and Alexandria Trauma-Informed Community Networks, and is a co-chair of the Governor’s Steering Committee on the Prevention of Child Abuse and Neglect across the Commonwealth of Virginia.

Leah graduated summa cum laude from Shippensburg University with a BS in Public Administration, holds a graduate degree in Social Psychology, and is a Ph.D. student studying the neurobiology of childhood trauma and abuse.

You are most likely to find Leah creating comfort with a needle and yarn, claiming that two tiny King Charles Spaniels are more taxing than raising four sons...or following a favorite podcast.
