Superintendent and Author, Dr. Leighangela Brady leads National School District, serving approximately 4,000 preschool through sixth-grade students. She works with educators, leaders, and communities to remove barriers, reduce inequalities, and create innovative, student-centered learning environments that prepare children for a sustainable and equitable future.

With over 30 years in education, including more than a decade at the helm of National School District, Dr. Brady is a national presenter and frequent podcast guest, speaking on educational leadership, school transformation, sustainability, and the thoughtful use of artificial intelligence when leading educational reform.

She is the author of Transforming Ice Age Schools and Test Less, Assess More and has been recognized with honors including the Classroom of the Future Foundation Innovative Superintendent Award, Women Rock Cali Igniting Synergy Award, and DA Magazine Thought Leader. Under her leadership, National School District has received impressive recognition including America’s Healthiest Schools, Project Adam Heart Safe Schools, California PBIS Awards, and California Green Ribbon School – Green Achiever.

Dr. Brady holds an Ed.D. in Educational Leadership from San Diego State University and M.A. and B.S. degrees in Education from the University of Connecticut. Her experience spans serving as assistant superintendent, principal, assistant principal, classroom teacher, and instructional coach. She collaborates with nonprofits and serves on advisory boards, including as chair of the Classroom of the Future Foundation, chair of her local Special Education Local Plan Area, and president of her local Kiwanis club.

When not leading or presenting, she enjoys witnessing innovative learning in action, connecting with educators and students, and advancing the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals through education.
