As a former developer and architect, I have been working in and transforming organisations of varying age and size using Agile and DevOps practices for the last 17 years before making the move into consulting. My passion is helping organisations achieve higher throughput of delivery of value through happier, more engaged teams.
I’m co-founder and organiser of the DevOps specialised meetup DevOps Notts in Nottingham, and co-creator and co-host of the Agile Engineering Podcast and Azureish Live.
Many organisations still struggle to grasp what DevOps is, the benefits it provides or even where to get started.
Will it automate people's jobs away? Yes.
Will it make things better? Yes.
Are you still valuable? Absolutely.
So let's address those concerns head on and talk about why those assumptions are incorrect.
Join me as we take a look at creating our builds as code to create Docker containers and push them to Docker hub along with how to debug them locally and deploy them in Azure
In this talk, I talk about the importance of the flow of work and team structures to enable fast, safe delivery of value to end users. We define what DevOps is and why it's important today and for years to come.
Using a combination of .NET, Azure, SignalR, Blazor and a Raspberry Pi, we'll build a robot and a control interface and show how real-time control of robots in this rudimentary way could pave the way to the application of further unmanned technologies in wider industries.
Attendees will also get to control the robot remotely too!

Join me as we workshop building a continuous integration pipeline in Azure DevOps around containers, using DevSecOps practices such as vulnerability scanning and policy compliance!
