Liana Anca Tomescu is a Cloud Security Product Manager at Microsoft Ireland on the Microsoft Defender for Cloud team, responsible for customers becoming more secure against malicious cyberattacks. She does this through presenting talks, writing articles, partnering with key customers, and by creating automations to block cyberattacks in real-time. Her focus areas are DevSecOps, securing APIs and containers.
Liana is a recognised speaker at both in-person conferences such as Techorama, and in webinars at online Microsoft conferences.
Liana was previously the CWIT (Connecting Women in Technology) lead in Ireland, which is a coalition made up several technology companies like Microsoft based in Ireland, that work to attract, retain and promote women in the tech sector. As part of this, she has founded several CWIT programs such as the University Tech Starter, the CWIT Book Club and the CWIT Fireside Chat.
