Lisa was a high school counselor for nearly 20 years before leading Project Next (formerly The San Marcos Promise) in 2019. Supported by her dedicated team, she established Future Centers in three San Marcos Unified School District high schools, expanded community partnerships, and added programs for high school students. Project Next will extend its services to Escondido Union High School District and Escondido Charter High School in the fall.
As a first-generation college student from a low-income, single-parent household, Lisa knows firsthand the transformative power of education. Inspired by her high school counselor, she is dedicated to providing resources and opportunities that impact students' futures. Lisa's leadership at Project Next reflects her passion for making a difference in the lives of young people.
