Lo Patrick, L.C.S.W. received her Masters’ degree from the Crown Family School of Social Work, Policy and Practice at the University of Chicago and has worked in schools in Chicago for more than 20 years, both as a School Social Worker at a charter school and as a community partner providing social work services in traditional CPS schools. Lo has worked with children from PreK through 12th grades and is especially interested in supporting positive culture and climate in schools in order to ensure that learning and teaching hold joy for both students and teachers. Lo is also a trainer for Youth Mental Health First Aid. In her position as Director of Clinical and SEL Services at Communities In Schools of Chicago, Lo currently supervises clinicians working in elementary and high schools in Chicago.

Utilizing Community Partners to go Deeper With SEL in the School Building

Research shows that SEL skills need to be taught each day of the school week. We also know teachers are busy with their own lessons, graduation requirements, and a variety of other mandates.
