It's never easy to describe oneself, especially when one is interested in so many different topics and fields and I guess that says something about who I am afterall. I find it fun and entertaining to teach difficult subjects through exotic methods and stories and people seem to also have fun while I do so.

I believe in the union between science and human values (read fun) and I often work and participate in non-profit organization and projects which aim to bring culture and scientific knowledge.

The year 3000, a brief history of Web Development

Join me for a trip back to the year 3000 for a hilarious history of web development!

We'll explore the evolution of frameworks, libraries, and JavaScript, and laugh at how we're still dealing with the same old dev problems, no matter how many shiny new frameworks are released.

Get ready to fake your way through history as we take a tongue-in-cheek look at the state of web development in the year 3000. What are the newest frameworks? What kind of libraries are all the cool kids using? And most importantly, what are the problems we're still struggling with, despite centuries of progress?

This parody talk is a fun, relaxed way to learn about the current state of web technologies and development. Don't miss out on a chance to visit the year 3000 with me!

The event loop fairytale

Are you intimidated by the Node.js event loop? No need! In this talk, we will demystify the event loop, step by step. Even if you're not a fan of asynchronous code, you'll learn to embrace it as we explore the inner workings of the event loop.

Get ready to think async and join us as we take a deep dive into this powerful tool. You'll leave this talk feeling confident in your understanding of the event loop and ready to conquer even the most complex async tasks. Trust us, it's all part of the loop 😀

Sustainable me. A tale of good design.

Sustainable me: A tale of good design for a greener future.

Everyone is talking about the importance of renewable energy, climate agreements, and the fight against climate change but have you ever stopped to think about the impact of all the apps and online tools have on the environment? It is time to recognise that not every issue has the size of an elephant and we can actually change the world with so fewer steps than we imagine.

Join me on a journey to discover how we can use good design and best practices to create a more sustainable internet and make a difference in the fight against global warming.

Let's green this, one div at a time!

Greta is not happy with your website and she is right

It’s 2022 and everyone is talking about green energy, renewables, bitcoin farms, climate agreements and climate change, but, have you ever thought about the weight that a single client server application can have on this climate war we are all fighting?

It is time to recognize that not every issue has the size of an elephant and we can actually change the world with so fewer steps than we imagine. (Yeah, it’s practically an excuse to avoid Zoom calls)

Join me and discover how Internet is among the producers of most of the CO2 released each year. Let’s fight climate change, one byte at a time.

Big Brother is Watching: Observability in Distributed Systems

In today's complex technological landscape, understanding the state and behaviour of systems is critical. This understanding, or 'observability,' is especially pivotal when it comes to distributed systems, where components are dispersed and interdependence is high. In this talk, we'll explore the importance of observability, discuss its three pillars (logs, metrics, and traces), and delve into techniques for enhancing observability in distributed environments. Through real-world examples and practical insights, you'll learn how to effectively implement these techniques and transform your system's observability from a confusing labyrinth into a well-lit road map.

Dive into the critical role of observability in today's complex, distributed systems. Our talk will illuminate the three pillars of observability—logs, metrics, and traces—and provide practical techniques for their effective implementation. With real-world examples, we'll guide you from a maze of confusion to a clear road map for system understanding.
