Luan Moreno is a Lead Data Engineer at Pythian and the Founder and CEO of Engenharia de Dados Academy, a Brazilian education and community platform for data and AI engineers. With more than 15 years of international experience, he has built enterprise data platforms across cloud, batch and streaming processing, orchestration, observability, and infrastructure automation.

His current work focuses on Agentic Engineering: designing AI systems that turn human intent into reliable action through engineered context, verifiable specifications, constrained authority, evaluations, observability, and accountable human oversight. His perspective is grounded in hands-on enterprise delivery, including complex and regulated modernization programs where evidence matters as much as model capability.

Luan is a Microsoft Data Platform MVP, the first Brazilian Databricks MVP, an author, professor, and international speaker. He has presented across the Americas, Europe, and Japan, including Microsoft Ignite, PASS Summit, TechEd, SQL Konferenz, and Tuga IT. Through his teaching and community work, he helps engineers build practical, production-ready data and AI systems.
