I am a mathematician and Computer Scientist.

I was, among others (in Utrecht) one of the "early researchers", together with Erik Meijer, Graham Hutton and Doaitse Swierstra, on using Monads.

I continued doing Functional Programming research as a "late at night hobby" when I was a software instructor and consultant.

I presented talks at Java and Scala conferences.

Nowadays I am retired, and continue being "addicted to programming research" (besides being a cyclist and a gardener together with my lovely wife).
