What started as a fun little project has become my biggest interest and passion. Back in 2015, the local hiking club was looking for a new website. Enthusiastic as I am, I immediately started developing... I had so much fun doing this and I spent the coming years in education related to IT.
Over time, I got more and more interested in the infrastructure of where applications & websites are running. During my internship, I discovered the Cloud! It became my passion and I haven't stopped learning & certifying about the (Azure) Cloud since then.
Recently, I've started hosting Cloud Camp Live at Xylos. A series where I - together with my colleagues - try to give you tips & tricks about Azure. So far topics like Bicep, Pipelines, App Modernization etc. have been covered.
Realizing how much fun it is for me to create these episodes, I now hope to be able to give my first sessions as a speaker.

Modernize applications using containerization & PaaS solutions
When migrating to a Cloud Platform - let’s say Azure 😉 - there are different possible strategies. After a quick overview of the different approaches (the R’s of Cloud Migration), we will focus on modernization (replatform). First, we will start with the ‘why’. What are the perks of modernizing your application? Why not just simply lift & shift them? How will we modernize both the application & database?
After those questions are answered we will immediately dive into the Azure Portal! How do you deploy the resources we will need? How do we containerize our application? How will we move our database structure and its data in a fast but secure way? The hands-on demo will cover it all!
