After winning a gold medal in my Bachelor's degree in engineering from Pakistan, I was offered European Union's Erasmus Mundus scholarship and received my Masters in Applied Physics from the Netherlands; and Masters in Optics, Matter and Plasma from France. I then received a Masters, followed by a Ph.D. in Optical Sciences from the University of Arizona. I currently work as a Senior Design Engineer at ASML US, and continue to independently collaborate on research papers with the University of Arizona. I have also served as a youth ambassador for various non-profit organizations (NGOs) and a Director for an NGO in Pakistan. My NGO work dealt with emergency relief, education, women rights and youth empowerment, and has been recognized at the United State of Women summit, Clinton Global Initiative (University) and UN Women. I am a NASA Datanaut, from 2016.
