Gaurav Kumar is a software engineering leader with over 17 years of experience in large-scale distributed systems, digital payments, and global product development. He currently serves as a Software Development Manager at Amazon, where he leads a team of engineers building B2B payment checkout experiences for Amazon Business customers worldwide.
At Amazon, he has led the launch of several high-impact payment solutions, including corporate bank account payments, Pay by Invoice, Shared Pay experiences, and advanced checkout capabilities that support enterprise purchasing workflows. His work has driven multimillion-dollar business impact while improving payment reliability, fraud prevention, and customer experience.
Previously, Gaurav worked as a Technical Program Manager in Amazon’s global payments organization, where he led cross-functional initiatives such as launching payment infrastructure for new international marketplaces and implementing multi-factor authentication for European customers.
Earlier in his career, he held engineering roles at Amazon, T-Mobile, IBM, Robert Bosch, and Tata Consultancy Services, developing tools and services across distributed systems and network infrastructure.
Gaurav holds a Master’s degree in Computer Science from The University of Texas at Dallas and a Bachelor’s degree in Information Science and Engineering from The National Institute of Engineering, India.
