Hi! I am Gosia, but some people know me as a mom, a daughter, some as friend, others coworker, but for some, I am just “ey, you!”. A few years back I graduated from Automatic Control and Robotics, and soon after starting my job in that field, I knew... it's not for me. So I started looking for something new. Then.. it hit me how cool was programming during my studies, so HERE I AM!
For quite a few years now I have been working as a full-stack developer with .NET and React (and knockout, Angular JavaScript..). However, recently I have been feeling a growing passion and interest in DevOps too. I am only beginning my DevOps journey, but I am facing some exciting challenges. At the times when I am not coding, you will probably find me either playing with our little one, in my cave painting or trying to play piano.

JavaScript is weird. MythBusters special.
In the era of Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube, it’s easy to get lost in endless reels and shorts telling you all sorts of things—from claims about the earth being flat to life-changing tarot readings, and even theories about JavaScript being weird. But is JavaScript really as strange as it’s often portrayed? Or is it just another myth that’s grown more popular over time? Let’s dive into some common examples and figure out if JavaScript is truly the quirky language people say it is, or if there’s more to the story. After all, JavaScript is one of the most widely used and influential programming languages today, powering everything from dynamic websites to complex web applications. With its reach expanding daily, understanding its quirks isn’t just important—it’s essential.
First public delivery of the exciting talk, breaking the myths about JavaScript. Session takes 30-45 minutes. The level of experience or age doesn’t matter - if you are advanced JS user In sure you’ll enjoy some funny stories, if you are just a beginner I’m sure you’ll take out much insightful knowledge from this presentation.
From HTML to here: The evolution of Web development and where we lost our way
Let’s go together on the fascinating journey of web development. From its humble beginnings with basic HTML to the sophisticated, complex ecosystems we see today. We’ll trace the milestones that brought us the dynamic, interactive web, touching on key innovations like CSS, JavaScript, and frameworks like React. However, along the way, we’ll reflect on the critical moments where things may have taken a wrong turn—whether it's about overcomplicated tools, bloated websites that sacrifice speed and accessibility, or the overwhelming choice of frameworks that can paralyse development. The goal is to examine how we got here, what can be improved, and how we can simplify and refocus web development for a more efficient, user-centred future.
