Malvika is a Senior Researcher - Open Research at the Tools, Practices and Systems Research Programme. She leads a team of Research Community Managers, establishing this emerging role as an essential part of all AI and Data Science teams. She is a co-lead investigator of The Turing Way project – a community-led handbook on data science, with its goal to make research reproducible, collaborative, ethical and inclusive with and for research communities around the globe. She is leading The Turing Way's Practitioners Hub to build a forum for cross-sector knowledge exchange and collaboration around the adoption of open science and research best practices.
Malvika co-founded OLS (previously Open Life Science), a mentoring and training programme that empowers researchers to gain an understanding of open science principles, build collaborations with experts and adopt best practices in the context of their communities. She contributes to several open source and open science initiatives both in an advisory capacity and as a volunteer contributor.
Malvika advocates for inclusive and collaborative community spaces to enable purposeful human-centred adoption of open research practices, tools and culture.
