Manoj is a seasoned technology leader with over 38 years of international experience in the medical device industry. A graduate in Mechanical Engineering from the College of Engineering, Trivandrum, with a Post Graduate Diploma in Plastics Engineering from CIPET, he has built a distinguished career spanning innovation, manufacturing excellence, quality systems, and corporate governance at a global level.
Manoj began his career at Peninsula Polymers Limited (PENPOL) in 1986, contributing to the establishment of India’s first blood bag manufacturing facility. Manoj played a key role in developing manufacturing processes, quality systems, and product engineering. Following PENPOL’s joint venture with Terumo Corporation, Japan, he played a pivotal role in transferring advanced Terumo technology to India.
Over the years, Manoj held diverse leadership roles at Terumo Penpol, including Head of Factory, Production, R&D, Quality, Engineering, as well as Management Representative for Quality Management Systems. He established a robust Quality Management System and drove continual improvements, positioning Terumo Penpol as a trusted and respected leader in its segment.
His career reflects extensive international exposure, having worked with Terumo’s global sites on technology transfer and collaborative projects. During his career, Manoj also served in the Middle East in Senior management position in medical device industry.
In his last role, Manoj served as Vice President of Global Product Development & Engineering for Terumo Blood and Cell Technologies, overseeing R&D operations across India, Japan, and Vietnam. He also held the position of Whole Time Director at Terumo Penpol Pvt. Ltd., where he guided strategic growth and innovation.
Manoj’s expertise encompasses establishing medical device manufacturing and R&D facilities, leading quality organizations through global Regulatory and Notified body audits. He is a trained medical device auditor and lead auditor for Quality Management Systems.
Beyond corporate leadership, Manoj contributes actively to industry standards and professional bodies. He is a member of national and international standardization committees, including ISO Technical Committees, where he serves as an expert member and Project leader. He is a Life member of the Indian Institution of Industrial Engineering (IIIE) and the Indian Plastics Institute (IPI). Currently, he chairs the Medical Plastics Committee of the Indian Plastics Institute.
