The SBOM Landscape: Challenges and Innovations in Generation & Distribution
There have been increased legal requirements for the software makers to distribute Software Bill of Materials (SBOM) adoption, but challenges persist in its generation, and secure distribution. This talk is an overview of the state of the SBOM universe in 2025. The SBOM landscape is rapidly evolving. The Linux foundation, OWASP and industry have made considerable progress in standards(CycloneDX, SPDX), generation tooling, distribution models (Transparency Exchange API), and consumption tooling. Attendees will have actionable insights into the SBOM format and tooling enabling them to start incorporating SBOM in their SDLC.
