Next level report design: Figma deep dive

In this exciting 2-hour session, we'll explore the cutting-edge of report design, blending AI, Figma, and Power BI to create something truly unique. This session is perfect for those ready to push the boundaries of traditional reporting and step into the future of data visualization.

Topics covered:

> AI-Powered Creativity: We kick off with AI generating fresh, unique report design ideas right before your eyes. This isn't just about seeing AI's potential; it's about harnessing it in real time.

> Figma for Precision and Style: Next, we'll take these AI-generated concepts and bring them to life in Figma. You'll learn how to translate AI's abstract ideas into tangible, visually appealing report designs.

> Integrating with Power BI: The final step is to add a layer of practicality by integrating our designs with Power BI. This is where design meets data, and your reports start telling compelling stories.

By the end of our time together, you’ll have a firsthand understanding of how to use these powerful tools to elevate your report design game to the next level.

Power BI Tips and Tricks - Data Visualisation

A report should not just show users the right numbers, it should show the right numbers in the right way.
Unfortunately, the topic of user experience in report development is often overlooked, leading to frustrated users, and reports that end up not having as much traction as they should. During this session, I will share with you some of the tricks I use to take my reports to the next level. With these tricks, you will have the tools to make any report more user friendly and easy to read and use. Believe me, your users will thank you!

My story as a data viz freelancer - ups, downs and lessons learned

All my life, I worked for a single goal... I wanted to get my dream job. I thought I was doing everything right, at least according to the common societal concepts of success: I got the good degree, moved to the UK, and eventually, I got my dream job working as a Cloud Solutions Architect at Microsoft. Life was good.
However, I soon realized that I was trying to live "someone else's dream". After reflecting on everything I achieved, even though I really enjoyed my job, I decided to finally follow my gut.
Fast forward a few months, I set up my own company and started working as a Power BI freelancer.
But this has not been an easy journey. It's a journey full of ups and downs but mostly, full of many invaluable lessons.
There are a lot of things that keep me on track and motivated every day, a lot of lessons I learned, and in this session I want to share it all with you.

Focusing on the why - Power BI User Journeys

Very often, I have customers who are looking for someone who can help them "tell a story" with their data. They don't want just reports, they want to incorporate data storytelling into their solutions. However, this is often easier said than done.
As I was trying to find the best method to make sure all my reports have great user experience and incorporate that data storytelling element, I came up with a concept, often used in UX applied to web development, called user journeys.
By understanding the journey your users will take when they open the report, the first place they will look at, the first click, and so on, you can build data products that will delight your end users, answer their business questions, and provide the insights they need.
In this session, I'm going to share with you all my secrets about defining user journeys in Power BI.

Power BI Report Design - Ultimate Tips

Creating a reporting solution is about more than just throwing charts onto a screen.
The goal of any report is not to simply present the data. The goal is to design an effective tool that helps users get better insights more quickly, without too many unnecessary clicks or too much time spent trying to figure out how to use the report.
I'm guessing you're probably thinking "I'm not very creative so I will never be able to create an amazing and effective design, I just don't have it in me".
What if I told you you don't have to be a Picasso to build more effective report designs?
I want to break the stigma that only "creative people" can build reports with a great design! To help you on this journey, I will be sharing my report design process, from defining user journeys, to creating your report layouts and selecting the right elements that maximize quick insight generation.
And, of course, as the session title says, I will also share loads of tips that will make the entire process a lot easier and accessible to any Power BI Developer.
