Marie LaMonica-Sarro is the Associate Director of Classroom Learning in the Office of Early Childhood Learning at the Virginia Department of Education. Her role supports VQB5 curriculum vetting, STREAMin3 access and coaching, VECC coaching for Needs Support Sites, and VKRP. Marie worked in Chicago Head Start/ Early Head Start programs for nine years as a Teacher, Site Director, and Education Manager, as well as, a co-chair of the Department of Family and Support Services Education Committee before moving to Virginia in 2021. Marie supported VPI, Head Start, and ECSE programming within Richmond Public Schools before transitioning to the Office of Early Childhood Learning at VDOE. Marie has a bachelor's degree in Communication from the University of Maryland, master's degree in Dual Language Instruction from Dominican University, and an Infant Toddler Specialist Certificate from Erikson Institute.
