Mario has been active in the Kubernetes ecosystem since 2015, helping teams adopt containers and Kubernetes. As an early member of Mercedes Benz’s managed Kubernetes platform team, he helped build a global platform with nearly 1,000 clusters, an early example of what is now called "Platform Engineering."
He has seen Kubernetes and cloud native patterns evolve worldwide, balancing technical and leadership roles.
From October 2023 to March 2025, he served on the CNCF End User Technical Advisory Board.

Debug your containers in style with custom debug profiles
kubernetes 1.30 brought a new alpha feature into kubectl.
It's now super handy to debug containerized applications which do not have a shell or other swiss knife debugging tools in there.
By using this approach, we do not have any good reasons anymore to build our container images from full blown layers, such as entire Operating Systems. Instead we can now use a minimal approach with the side effect to reduce tons of CVE findings which doesn't belong to our application.
The CNCF EndUser TAB - update and future
Sergiu and Mario will give a status update on the EndUser TAB work. They want to know all the struggle, pain and experience what EndUsers currently dealing with, when they adopt toola from the CNCF ecosystem.
