Mario Payne is a U.S. Army veteran, Certified Financial Planner, and founder of TOAMS Financial, an independent advisory firm based in Jacksonville, Florida. With over 15 years of experience, he has focused on helping clients strengthen their financial futures, grow their wealth, and reduce financial stress. Through his work with initiatives like The Relax Estate and Payneful Profits, he has aimed to provide individuals and families with practical tools for achieving long-term financial security.

Mario J. Payne was born in Cincinnati, Ohio. After finishing high school, he earned a degree in Business Administration from Tennessee State University. Later, he advanced his education by completing a degree in financial planning through the College for Financial Planning. His dedication to professional excellence led him to achieve the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ certification and the Accredited Asset Management Specialist designation. These accomplishments place him among fewer than two percent of licensed African American advisors with the CFP® credential.

Mario joined the United States Army during college and served as a Financial Sergeant during Operation Enduring Freedom. In this role, he guided soldiers, helping them manage their pay, make informed financial decisions, and plan for their futures during challenging times.

His career in financial services began at American Income Life Insurance Company, where he gained experience explaining financial topics to working families. He later worked at Edward Jones, assisting retirees, families, and business owners with strategies to secure their financial futures. These experiences strengthened his ability to offer clear, thoughtful financial guidance.

In 2013, Payne founded TOAMS Financial, which stands for “Tithes Offering Alms Means Stewardship.” The firm serves clients across the United States and internationally from its base in Jacksonville. Under his leadership, TOAMS became one of the few African-American-owned SEC-registered investment advisory firms.

Mario created Payneful Profits, a YouTube channel that explains economic trends, stock market movements, and planning strategies in a clear and easy-to-understand way. His insights have also been featured in outlets such as Forbes and Cheddar News.

He co-founded LETB, the first Black-owned, AI-backed Exchange-Traded Fund, and Let Bob, an investment tool that helps retail investors make data-supported decisions. Payne also developed The Relax Estate, an AI-powered platform that simplifies estate planning by automating trusts, wills, and powers of attorney.

He contributes to his community through board service with the Jacksonville Public Library, the Tennessee State University Foundation, and Knots 4 Kids, supporting literacy, scholarships, and mentoring. His involvement with House Wars supports revitalization projects that help families access stable housing. Mario Payne’s work has been recognized with honors, including the 100K Day Award and the 40 Acres Entrepreneur of the Year award, which highlight his commitment to financial education, equity, and opportunity.
