Dr. Mary Ellen Mallia has served as the Director of the University at Albany’s Office of Sustainability since January 2008 where she works with a multitude of academic departments, student groups and community organizations to implement sustainable advancements and policies. She is one of the founding members of NYCSHE and is currently serving on the steering committee and as membership coordinator. Outside of work, Mary Ellen has a deep devotion to nature, especially the welfare of animals. Currently she lives on a farm near Schenectady, NY.
