Mason Tanaka currently serves as a Deputy Commissioner and the Chief Information Officer for the Alabama Medicaid Agency, where he has held these positions since September 2017. He has over 40 years of Information Technology experience that include: 20 years with the United States Air Force and over 12 years in the commercial sector. In June 2013, he began his public service career with the State of Alabama, and has served in several state-level IT executive roles that included: Director of IT Strategic Planning and Policy, Director of the Information Services Division, Assistant Secretary of IT, and Chief Information Security Officer.
