Matthew entered the blockchain space in 2014 while working on capital markets applications at KBC Securities. He supported the building of knowledge and capability internally and oversaw the development of proof of concept applications in the capital markets space covering bonds and equities. Under his guidance, KBC Securities was the first European bank to launch a publicly available, blockchain based application.

In 2016, Matthew co-founded SettleMint and is the CEO of the company. SettleMint is a leading Blockchain Platform as a Service (BPaaS) company that has been selected by Gartner as a “Cool Vendor” for blockchain in enterprise and by Everest Group as a global “Trailblazer” in low-code platforms. SettleMint exists to abstract away the complexities of blockchain and distributed ledger technologies so that every developer can become a blockchain developer instantly.

Matthew has led the growth of the company bringing on a several channel partners and expanding the footprint of SettleMint beyond its home base in Europe to MEA (Dubai), India (Delhi) and APAC (Singapore). He obtained his Bachelor Degree in Economics, specializing in Economic Development from Western University, London, Canada and later his Master in Business Administration (MBA) in Entrepreneurship and Innovation from Vlerick Business School, Leuven, Belgium.
