As co-founders of cor creative partners, James Simons (he/him) and Maureen Chapman (she/her) support educators to integrate academic and social-emotional learning, focusing on self-care, student voice, growth mindset, self-regulation, perseverance, and leadership.

Prior to co-founding cor, James was a principal, dean of students, instructional coach, and English teacher. Maureen spent nine years teaching Latin and eight years as a school leader, overseeing curriculum, resources, student data, instructional coaching, professional development, and career education.

In his past roles, James was instrumental in the development and implementation of SEL-centered Advisory curriculum. Maureen co-authored a list of discrete, transferable academic, social, and emotional skills. Along with James, Maureen supported the instruction and assessment of these skills across grades and disciplines, and she led a two-year project supporting teachers at three schools to integrate SEL in academics.
