Mrs. Maureen Lang, Executive Director for Learning Services in Academy District Twenty in Colorado Springs,
Colorado, has made education her career for the past 39 years. She has multiple years of experience as an
elementary classroom teacher, elementary administrator, and district-level administrator. In her current position,
one of her roles is to lead the district’s work on social and emotional learning, including the implementation of RULER. Maureen is honored to be the recipient of the 2022 Marvin Maurer Award from the Yale Center for Emotional Intelligence. She has presented at the annual RULER conference as well as for the Colorado Association of School Executives. She is passionate about social and emotional wellness and truly believes that through this work, we can change the
world for our students, staff, and families. Joining her for this presentation are members of the district's SEL team - Julie Hendrickson, Georganna Rapaport, and Karen Schoewe.

Social & Emotion Learning Through the Lens of a Multi-Tiered System of Support

Learn how to create a culture of collective responsibility to address the social & emotional needs of staff and students. According to the CDC, young people are experiencing a level of distress that calls us to act with urgency. With the right programs, schools have the ability to help our youth flourish. Participants will engage in evidence-based practices that support staff and students.
