Maureen Ruby is the Isabelle Farrington Endowed Chair in Social, Emotional, & Academic Leadership at Sacred Heart University.
Following a career in dentistry, she taught in K-12 schools. A CT Teacher of the Year semifinalist, she has served in district leadership roles as Supervisor of Professional Learning & Staff Development, Elementary Literacy Supervisor, Interim Director of Pupil Services & Special Education, and Assistant Superintendent She was named Outstanding Administrator by both Sacred Heart and UConn.
Maureen received her Ph.D. and her D.M.D. from the University of Connecticut. She holds an MS in Education (SCSU) and Materials Science (UConn), a BS in Biology (UConn), and completed a two year Ashoka-Changemaker Fellowship at the Yale Center for Emotional Intelligence. She supports teachers and leaders and serves on the Board of Directors of the Connecticut Teacher of the Year Council, as well as several education committees in state and national organizations.
