My name is Mike, and I am an Ex-Army Green Beret turned application security engineer. Currently, I serve as the senior enlisted Cyber Network Defender for the North Carolina National Guard. In my civilian career, I build content for an innovative security experiment and learning platform that emphasizes creating a developer-focused security culture. I leverage my security knowledge and experience as a developer to educate and challenge other developers to be a part of the security team.
I am also a speaker on a podcast that focuses on application security called “But We’re Just Devs… Livin’ in an AppSec World”. I write security-focused articles for my companies blog and have one technical article published on TechBecon.
I hold a Bachelor of Science in Computer and Information Systems Security, and my certifications include Network+, Security+, GSEC, GPYC, GCED, GCIA, GCIH, GSNA, GMON, and GSLC.
