Writing a DSL in Rust for Windows

Many of those with a CS background learned about parsers, syntax trees, and grammar in college, but then haven’t used it since. In this talk, we cover a real world DSL parsed by Winnow used in the People Work app, an application that helps people interact with each other and grow. We’ll cover the process of creating a parser, an abstract syntax tree, and integrating into a Rust app. By the end of the talk, people should be able to get started with their own DSL solving their own real world problems.

Audience Takeaways:
The audience will take away answers to the following questions:
- Connection of sophisticated computer science concepts with business outcomes
- I want to give people with computer science backgrounds an appreciation for the connection between the higher level computer science concepts with real business outcomes.
- Want to give a basic understanding of parsers, syntax, grammars
- An ability to get started on your own with this
