Micheline Barber is the proud owner of M Salon 1. She started her journey in the beauty industry over twenty years ago by attending Dudley’s Cosmetology University in Greensboro, NC. To perfect her craft she continued her education at KARG, Vidal Sassoon, and numerous educational workshops throughout the United States. As the Master Stylist and Creative Director of M Salon 1 and Mpulse Summit CEO, she keeps her guest and stylists current with the latest colors, techniques and hairstyles. She maintains her network and achieves trendsetter status with educational workshops and trade shows for the designer community. As senior beauty coordinator with MPACT BEAUTY , Micheline trains licensed cosmetologists and salons about the latest cutting and coloring techniques in the Southeastern U.S. area as well as internationally in Brazil and Martinique.  Micheline also imparts the qualities of perseverance, humility, quality service and a strong work ethic to her team; which she is building through apprenticeship.

Micheline has been featured in local and national news publications such as, Black Hair Sophisticate and Modern Salon and well as Universal Salon Magazine. The M Salon 1 has received the Steve Harvey “Hoodie Award” for Best Beauty Salon for three consecutive years and have been featured on “Split Ends”, a Bravo’s reality TV series.

Micheline has been able to balance a rewarding beauty career with raising two children, instilling the value of hard work and resiliency into them. Mikiya Barber and Mikayla Barber are graduates of University of Florida and Florida State University who are serving their country in the US Army and US Air Force.

Micheline’s dedication and determination are not limited to M Salon 1 and motherhood as she extends her time, service, and commitment to empower others in the community. She performs outreach with organizations such as Alpha House (Teen Pregnancy) and Metropolitan Ministries (Homelessness).  She motivates the younger generation by speaking at local high schools about cosmetology, encouraging the students to seek knowledge and inspiration in the beauty industry. Micheline stands firmly behind her personal and professional motto: “The seed you plant is always the one that will grow. “Plant it, love it, water it, and watch it grow.”Anyone seeking an example of lifelong learning, selfless service, infinite ambition, and unlimited creativity can look to Micheline Barber as an example.
