In 2010, he was promoted to Captain, where he was tasked with overseeing operations in the 73rd Precinct, an area that saw a significant reduction in crime under his leadership.
Chief Miguel Iglesias NYPD’s career culminated in 2022 when he was appointed Chief of Internal Affairs. In this critical role, he ensured that the NYPD maintained the highest standards of professionalism and integrity. His work promoting transparency and accountability within the department helped strengthen the relationship between law enforcement and the community. He retired in 2025, leaving behind a legacy of dedicated service, leadership, and a lasting commitment to public trust in law enforcement.
