Playing With Blockchain: Building Arcade High Score Trackers with JS Superpowers
Join us as we dive into the exciting world of blockchain technology, merging it with our beloved classic arcade games and the modern power of JavaScript! In this talk, we'll explore how to leverage Ethereum smart contracts to track high scores from different arcade games, transforming them into interactive and decentralized experiences.
We'll take a tour of how Ethereum and JavaScript form a perfect duo, starting with ethers.js and Hardhat to deploy and interact with smart contracts. Then, we'll move on to using Nest.js to serve as a bridge between our smart contracts and the front end, exposing a RESTful API for seamless integration.
On the front end side, we'll harness the power of Next.js and TailwindCSS to create an intuitive and responsive user interface. We'll demonstrate how easy it is to add a new game, submit scores, and view the top scorers, all interacting in real time with Ethereum blockchain.
By the end of this talk, you'll have a clear understanding of how blockchain can be implemented in your web applications, turning them into decentralized applications (DApps) that transcend the traditional client-server model.
Whether you're a seasoned web developer, a gaming enthusiast, or a blockchain explorer, this talk will spark new ideas and broaden your perspective on the practical applications of blockchain technology.
Get ready to game on, the decentralized way!
