Miles Zhang entered the Department of Computer Science of Tsinghua University in 1994 and graduated with a PhD degree in 2004. He then stayed on as an assistant professor until 2006. From 2012 to 2023, he worked on network infrastructure at Baidu and he is the founder of BFE open source project. In April 2023, Yingfei Network was founded by him to build next-generation cloud native traffic management platform for "serving modern applications" based on the BFE open source project.
