Matthew is a full stack web developer from Columbus, Ohio; he is a heavy contributor to open-source software with an interest in data normalization in Restful APIs, integrating third party platforms, vanilla JavaScript, TypeScript, PostgreSQL, local development environments (VMs, Docker), Open Source mentor, and Core Mentoring Coordinator for the Drupal project. He actively participates in the local JavaScript and PHP meetups, regional and international Drupal events, and enjoys a growing collection of board games.

He was given the opportunity to grow as a Core Mentoring Coordinator for the Drupal project in 2016, and began organizing mentored contribution events, promoting mentoring activities, recruiting, and mentoring mentors. The Drupal community is unique in welcoming new contributors who have never contributed before both physically and virtually with hundreds of people make meaningful contributions to the Drupal project and community.

He has spoken and organized at Drupal events since 2011 on topics including, but not exclusively, PostgreSQL, Typed Data API, Views, Visual Studio Code, First-time Contributor Workshop and Mentor training.
