His academic excellence led him to Loyola College in Vijayawada for pre-university studies, and he later earned a Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy from Andhra University. He furthered his expertise by obtaining a Master’s degree in Biochemical Engineering and Pharmaceutical Technology, setting a solid foundation for his future career.
His professional journey began with a rotational internship at Hoechst in Mumbai, gaining valuable experience in manufacturing and laboratory roles. After completing his Master's degree, he secured a position at Bharat Salt and Chemicals in Orissa, India. In 1977, seeking better opportunities, he immigrated to the United States with minimal resources but full of determination. Starting in entry-level positions, including cleaning tablet machines, he quickly climbed the ranks at pharmaceutical companies such as PurePack (now Teva) and Barr Labs. By 1978, he joined ICN Pharmaceuticals as a production manager.
In 1984, he demonstrated his entrepreneurial spirit by founding Able Labs, navigating early challenges, and achieving significant milestones like the approval of generic Tranxene tablets and Monistat suppositories. Since 2003, he has served as an advisor to KVK Tech, aiding in the development and manufacture of affordable, high-quality, FDA-approved medications.
Alongside his professional achievements, he has been deeply committed to philanthropy. He founded the Satyaram Health Clinic in India to provide accessible healthcare to rural communities and significantly contributed to constructing a Hindu temple in Bridgewater, New Jersey. His philanthropic efforts extended to the University of Kentucky's Department of Pharmacy, enhancing its research capabilities through funding postdoctoral positions.
