OpenDX: Build Smarter Developer Tools with OpenAPI
APIs are everywhere. But building great developer tools around them is still harder than it should be. That’s where OpenAPI comes in.
I’ll show you how to use OpenAPI as a single source of truth to power everything: live documentation, client libraries, mock servers, test suites, and more.
We will see how how tools like Swagger, Postman, and Redoc use OpenAPI under the hood, and how you can use it to build your own smart developer experiences.
By the end of this talk, you’ll have the practical knowledge to start using OpenAPI to streamline your API development process and build better developer tools.
Build AI-Powered Apps With OpenAI and DeepSeek
In this hands-on session, we will dive deep into how to integrate OpenAI’s powerful language models into your applications.
You’ll learn how to set up your project with the OpenAI API, build an interactive AI chat interface, and explore cutting-edge features like image generation, semantic search, and document question-answering (QA) systems.
This session is perfect for developers looking to create intelligent, AI-driven applications using OpenAI's language models. Come ready to get hands-on with code, build powerful AI tools, and take your projects to new heights with the magic of OpenAI!
This presentation includes code explanation, project demo, and actively explaining the latest APIs by OpenAI and DeepSeek.
Banking Without Banks? Building Resilient Wallet Infrastructure in Unstable Times
In January 2021, Providus bank announced they were shutting down their virtual account service. This sent many fintechs (piggyvest, risevest, etc) into a frenzy.
The engineering and business teams needed to find new providers, build new rails, connect the rails, test the connection, make the rails available in record time.
How were they able to do it?
In this talk, I will use a dummy fintech app (Akeke). I will describe the best-practice microservice architecture that makes it easy to turn off any API and connect to another in record time.
This talk breaks down how the right architecture decisions — microservices, abstraction layers, event queues, and modular APIs — allowed teams to pivot fast under pressure.
Using SVGs to visualize election data
This talk demonstrates how the BBC and Stears Business visualized elections data in Nigeria. The approaches they used and why they should them.
Leveraging Open Banking APIs for Innovation
This session would explore the potential of open banking APIs for developers, discussing how they can access financial data and build innovative financial products and services.
It will include demoes, case studies and success stories of how companies in different sectors have successfully integrated financial APIs to achieve specific business goals.
Consuming REST APIs
This talk equips you with both foundations and best practices for consuming REST APIs.
From Playground to Production: Deploying Your TensorFlow Model to the Server
This workshop empowers developers to seamlessly deploy their TensorFlow models to production servers?
The audience will learn how to seamlessly integrate your models into production environments, transforming them from prototypes into powerful tools. The program tackles server environment selection, containerization, model optimization, deployment frameworks, and crucial security considerations.
I will show a sample model and try to bring to use on various platforms ( web, mobile ) for users to play with.
Consuming REST APIs
This talk equips you with both foundations and best practices for consuming REST APIs. We will consider APIs from different industry ( fintech, social media, live streaming ) and see how to building on these platforms.
Building Secure Fintech Apps And APIs
A case study of how fintech builds security into their software, infrastructure, and ecosystem.
As you know, the financial technology industry is growing rapidly, and with that growth comes an increased risk of cyberattacks. In 2021, the global financial services industry lost an estimated $10.3 billion to cyberattacks.
A secure fintech app or API is one that has been designed and developed with security in mind. This means that the app or API has been built using secure coding practices and that it has been tested for vulnerabilities.
Fintech apps and APIs often handle sensitive financial data, which makes them a prime target for cyberattacks. And people are usually the weakest links in this chain as they give out their passwords and information easily to social engineering and phishing gimmics.
Building Secure Fintech API: The Paga Approach
Fraud detection and prevention is top on list of things fintechs tackle. This talk is about how the paga team has secured its system for the past 10 years in existence. The audience will learn different approaches to secure APIs and industry standard to protecting people's money.
Building Developer Ecosystem in Africa
The presentation will describe initiatives from my experience and different teams across Africa building dev communities across the continent. I will share the outcomes from the very successful Meetups/Conferences taking place on various platforms.
