Doreen Nandutu Nabuzale is a Technical Support Engineer at eLAAB Limited, where she resolves hardware and software issues and supports the installation and use of IT systems and networks. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Telecommunication Engineering from Makerere University and is an IEEE-published co-author of "A Power Sharing Scheme for the Yaka Prepaid Power System in Uganda," a research project that allows for transferring prepaid electricity credits between meters.
Doreen is an active member of the Internet Society Uganda Chapter and the Policy Network on Artificial Intelligence (PNAI) working group of the Internet Governance Forum (IGF) where she contributes to research and shaping discussions and frameworks that promote sustainable, responsible, and socially inclusive AI governance. As a penholder, she contributes to the multistakeholder consultations to advocate for policies that minimise the environmental impact of AI and ensure accountability, fairness, and transparency in AI systems. She served as a penholder and proofreader for the PNAI policy brief 2024 which was presented at the global IGF in Riyadh. She is also a 2026 Internet Society Youth Ambassador at the Internet Society and she is eager to help more young Africans navigate the Internet governance ecosystem, transition from first-time participants to long-term contributors and shape policies that advance an open, secure, interoperable and inclusive Internet across Africa.
