Scattered to Structured: Redesigning Student Staff Training

Residence Life at Florida A&M University transformed student staff training between 2023-2025. Before Fall 2023, training lacked structure and connection to job duties. In 2023, we introduced a scaffolded method, campus partner integration, and technical training. In 2024, we enhanced content, developed a resource hub, and used assessments to gauge learning and improve delivery. In 2025, we introduced training modules and cohort-based tracks. These iterations will be covered, showing how to adapt training to fit staff size, institutional mission/identity, and student needs.
