Create your first Printed Circuit Board using KiCad

In this session I will show you how to create your very first printed circuit board using a popular open source e-cad software known as KiCad that runs on windows, mac and linux. I will explain what KiCad is, how to use it and create a simple circuit board in front of the audience in order to demonstrate what KiCad can do. I will also show them some tips and tricks to improve their design skills and experience. Additionally I will show how to find mistakes when inspecting their final design before getting their boards sent into production.

Introduction to the STM32

In this session I will be talking about how to get started with the STM32 which is a series of ARM based microcontrollers made by ST micro electronics and I will also talk about why you should start using it in your product or project. I will first talk about where is the STM32 is used in already available products and I will talk a bit on the architecture. I will then explain why it is more suitable for projects or products that require a fast microcontroller with great features at a low cost and compare it to other microcontrollers such as the ATMEGA328P ( the microcontroller used in the Arduino Uno ). Then I will give a quick demonstration like blinking an led and printing some text on a LCD display using two very common development boards that you can get on eBay or Aliexpress. A quick explanation on the different models and variants of the STM32 will also be given so as not to get you confused on which variant of the STM32 you should use for your project or product. Additionally I will also show you how to use the tools for programming the STM32 and provide some resources on where you can learn more about it.I might also give away an STM32 kit and some sensors to a random person that attends my session.

Printed Circuit Board design and manufacturing

So in this session I will be explaining how you can implement your electronics project or some piece of art or create cool stuff with a printed circuit board. I will then explain how these boards are designed , the different kinds that exist ,what you need to know if you ever want to design one and give some tips. Additionally I will show how these printed circuit boards are made, how you can get one made and save some money when doing so.
